Our Story

From one chaotic family trip to 50,000 happy families

Sun Volt Charge Cluster was born in 2014 from a very relatable disaster. Our founder, James Nakamura, attempted to take his wife Yuki and their two young children on a "spontaneous" two-week trip to Southeast Asia with almost zero preparation. What followed was a masterclass in everything you shouldn't do with a toddler abroad.

Delayed flights, missing medication, a hotel that claimed to be "family-friendly" but had a swimming pool with no fence, and a terrifying incident with contaminated street food — James and Yuki vowed that no family should ever go through what they did.
